Yes. A retainer will have to be worn at night or a permanent lingual wire will be glued to the back of your incisors to keep them straight in the long run.

The graft is performed under local anesthesia, which ensures total comfort during the procedure. Anti-inflammatory medication is prescribed for the first 2 days to mitigate the pain. By following the postoperative instructions, normally the healing is almost complete after this time. However, failure to follow postoperative instructions may result in delayed healing for up to 2 weeks and prolonged discomfort.

If the device is well-adjusted and the post-insertion follow-up is ensured, especially during the first year, very few irreversible complications occur.
